September, 2022 I started photographing my son, Miles’, (then) grade 1 class. Each month grade 1s spent time in the outdoor classroom. I quickly noticed a group of girls who played together, yet apart from their classmates. I was intrigued. Each month, I noticed the same pattern of the girls playing together, yet apart from their classmates. I found myself being pulled towards these girls. I couldn’t help but photograph their friendship. I then asked their parents if it would be alright if could hang out with my camera and document their developing friendship.
