Margot and her Heels

When I was a little girl, I would walk into my mom’s closet and see, what looked like to me, hundreds of rows of my high heeled shoes. My favorite pair were black, shiny, with a very high heel which my mom kept in a satin bag. I would watch my mom get dressed to go out for dinner with my dad and pay particular attention to the way she would slip her feet into her black, shiny high heels. Sometimes, if I was lucky, I would get to slip my feet into these black, shiny, high heels and try my best not to fall over.

As an adult, I own one pair of high heels. I often wear, what I like to call “Fashion trainers,” ballet flats, or running shoes. Our good friend, however, gifted Margot a pair of her white high heels. Margot took to these heels immediately, and as such, I started making pictures. I will continue to make pictures of Margot and her heels as long as Margot continues to wear her heels.
