My mom began getting sick January 2023. Mid-February 2023, I took my kids, Miles and Margot, (ages 6.5 and 3.5 years old) to Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada spend time with her and my dad. My mom’s health declined quickly. Between our February visit and the day she died, March 23, 2023, I would visit two more times. These are the photographs I made of my kid’s experience moving through grief over these six weeks. The last photograph is one page from Miles’ journal entry he wrote while at school in grade 1.
