october is an interesting month for me. it’s my mom’s birthday…..and this year miles, margot, and i were lucky enough to be in qualicum beach on her birthday. we celebrated her by sharing a piece of lemon cake at french press, a local cafe. we also celebrated den’s birthday. miles ran a 1 km trail race in qualicum beach and i ran the 26km trail race (my first trail race! and at this moment, my last. i learned during these two hours of running how much i love road running). we had bonus time at home with miles and margot while the schools were on strike (lots of high highs! and low lows!), and halloween! when you watch the slideshow, you will see how great den is! i loved watching the three of them move around together as ariel, king triton, and sebastian from the little mermaid. miles was adamant margot remained “in character” and often shouted, “margot! in character! in character!” (i think margot wanted to get the candy).
